The AAA+ is a universal model of constructivist learning. The first three stages articulate the essential parts of directed attention, the noticing of patterns and relationships and the application of these inferences to the world. The ‘plus’ describes the process of the development of expertise and intuition. As such it provides a simple and complete model of current understandings of constructivist approaches to learning. It’s primary use is to help educators to design scaffolded experiences of constructivist learning.
The playbook includes a wide variety of classroom strategies and tactics by stage.
